Russia's TGK-6 reduces electricity production 6.9% in H1

NIZHNY NOVGOROD. July 22 (Interfax) - Russia's Territorial Generating Company No. 6 (TGK-6) , a division of IES Holding, reduced electricity production 6.9% to 6.378 billion kilowatt hours in the first half of 2009 compared to the same period of 2008, the company said in a statement.

Heat production declined 1.7% to 9.461 million Gcal/hour in the half.

The decrease in production can be attributed to a decline in consumption at industrial enterprises, the company said. Such trends have been seen since the start of the year.

TGK-6 operates in the Vladimir, Ivanovo, Nizhny Novgorod and Penza regions and in Mordovia. It includes 14 combined heat and power plants, one district state electricity station and three boiler plants. Installed capacity totals 3,100 megawatts of electricity and 10,700 Gcal/hr of heat.
