Cosmetic maker Kalina sees profit fall 27% in H1

YEKATERINBURG. Aug 3 (Interfax) - Cosmetic maker Kalina Concern posted a net profit of 155.685 million rubles in the first half of 2009 under Russian accounting standards, a decline of 27.1% compared with the same period last year, the company said in materials.

Revenue rose 12.5% to 4.827 billion rubles and gross profit was up 11.4% to 2.625 billion rubles.

The figures do not include results from Dr. Scheller Cosmetics AG or sales in Ukraine.

Kalina Concern is one of the largest cosmetics and personal care products manufacturers in Russia. The lead production facility is in Yekaterinburg. Subsidiaries include Pallada-Ukraina, Glavskazka International, Dr. Scheller Beauty Center, Kalina Overseas Holding B.V. (Netherlands) and Kalina International SA (Switzerland). Kalina also owns a controlling interest in German cosmetics producer Dr. Scheller Cosmetics AG.
