Kazakhtelecom Internet users up 18% in H1
ALMATY. Aug 3 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan's leading telecommunications operator, Kazakhtelecom, said its Internet subscribers grew 18% in number to more than 1.4 million during the first half of 2009.
These included 911,000 broadband users, up 38%, the company said in a press release.
The company installed 179,900 fixed telephone lines against 128,000 for the same period in 2008. Fixed-line penetration grew 22.16%.
