Hebei discovers iron ore deposit with 200 mln tons of estimated resources

Shanghai. August 6. INTERFAX-CHINA - The Hebei Bureau of Geology and Mineral Exploration has discovered an iron ore deposit with estimated iron ore resources of more than 200 million tons in Qian'an City of Hebei Province, according to a report released by the local department of land and resources on Aug. 4.

The deposit covers an area of 3 square kilometers and has an average iron grading above 30 percent, according to the report. The Hebei Bureau of Geology and Mineral Exploration will soon start detailed exploration work to determine the exact size of the deposit.

An official from the Hebei Bureau of Geology and Mineral Exploration refused to comment when contacted by Interfax on Aug. 6.
