Changqing Oilfield produces 11.20 bln cubic meters of natural gas by July's end

Shanghai. August 10. INTERFAX-CHINA - The Changqing Oilfield, located in northwestern China's Ordos Basin, produced a total of 11.20 billion cubic meters of natural gas by July 29, 2009, China National Petroleum Corp. (CNPC), the oilfield's owner, said in a newsletter on Aug. 10.

According to the newsletter, the Changqing Oilfield sold 10.11 billion cubic meters of natural gas over the same period, meeting 62 percent of its annual sales target.

The oilfield, which mainly supplies China's northern regions through the Shaanxi-Beijing gas pipeline, produced 25.20 million tons of oil equivalent in 2008, up 25 percent from 2007. CNPC's output target for the oilfield in 2009 is 30 million tons of oil equivalent.
