Govt to decide on volume of OFZ for bank recapitalization in Sept

KISLOVODSK. Aug 10 (Interfax) - The Russian government will decide in September on the volume of Federal Loan Bonds (OFZ) that will be issued to recapitalize banks in 2009, Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Kudrin, who is also the country's finance minister, told reporters in Kislovodsk.

"We'll decide on a figure at a government meeting in September, when we'll be making our adjustments. It will be between 150 billion and 210 billion rubles," Kudrin said.

Kudrin said banks had not yet approached the Finance Ministry with specific proposals regarding re-capitalization via OFZ.

"In general, banks have made their wishes known, but we have not received any specific proposals or amounts from them," Kudrin said.
