MOSCOW. Aug 11 (Interfax) - Freight One shipped 123.6 million tonnes of freight in January-July 2009, 130% more than in the same period last year, the company said in a statement.

"The growth is due to the expanded fleet as rolling stock is gradually transferred from Russian Railways (RZD) ," the statement says.

Freight One shipped 39.4 million tonnes of coal in the seven months, 36.8 million tonnes of petroleum and products, 11.2 million tonnes of ore, 9.1 million tonnes of construction materials, 4.4 million tonnes of iron and steel, 6.1 million tonnes of cement, 4.1 million tonnes of forest products and 2.7 million tonnes of chemical and mineral fertilizer, as well as other goods.

Freight One accounted for 19.7% of freight shipments on RZD's network.

Freight One, founded in July 2007, is the largest rail freight operator in Russia. RZD is the principle founder and owner.

In November 2007 Freight One began independently operating its fleet of rolling stock, which makes up 21% of the Russian total. It shipped over 100 million tonnes of freight in 2008.
