Belarus restricts cheese exports to Russia from two enterprises

MOSCOW. Aug 13 (Interfax) - Belarus has imposed temporary restrictions on exports of dairy products to Russia by two enterprises, Russian food safety watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor said in a statement.

The restrictions were imposed against the Dyatlovo Cheese Plant and the Skidel Butter and Cheese Plant after the Belarusian veterinary service discovered tetracycline-group antibiotics in their products.

The Belarusian authorities halted exports from those plants under agreements on food products derived from animals agreed by Russia and Belarus earlier.

It was reported earlier that the discovery of tetracycline in products from four Lithuanian enterprises prompted restrictions on their exports to Russia effective August 17.
