Enel OGK-5 boosts net profit almost 200% in H1

MOSCOW. Aug 14 (Interfax) - Enel OGK-5 posted a net profit of 1.656 billion rubles in the first half of 2009, an increase of almost 200% over the profit in the same period last year, the company reported.

Revenue was down 5% to 19.25 billion rubles, due to a decline in electricity consumption amounting to 7.4% in the European portion of Russia including the Urals and the resultant drop in prices on the free market in electricity, the company said.

Enel OGK-5, registered in Yekaterinburg in October 27, 2004, includes the Konakovskaya, Nevinnomysskaya, Sredneuralskaya and Reftinskaya district electricity stations (GRES) with installed capacity of 8,700 megawatts. Enel owns 56% of shares.
