Russia's Veropharm posts losses of 18.6 mln rubles in H1

MOSCOW. Aug 17 (Interfax) - Russia's Veropharm posted net losses of 18.556 million rubles under Russian accounting standards (RAS) in the first half of 2009 compared to net profit of 204.1 million rubles in the same period of 2008, the pharmaceutical producer said in a statement.

Sales revenue declined 12% to 1.344 billion rubles in the half, costs - 6.6% to 686.7 million rubles, gross profit - 17.3% to 657.064 million rubles, operating profit - 44.4% to 189.923 million rubles and pre-tax losses totaled 26.48 million rubles compared to pre-tax profit of 276.781 million rubles in the first half of 2008.

Pharmacy Chain 36.6 owns the controlling stock interest in Veropharm.
