Russian seaports increase cargo handling by 6.1% in Jan-Jul
MOSCOW. Aug 18 (Interfax) - Russia's seaports increased cargo handling by 6.1% year-on-year to 279.5 million tonnes in January-July 2009, the Association of Commercial Seaports said in a statement.
The increase was largely the result of tanker cargo, as well as transport of coal and grain.
Export cargo came to 216.5 million tonnes, a year-on-year increase of 8.1%.
