St. Petersburg's Pulkovo Airport handles 11.3% fewer passengers in Jan-July

ST. PETERSBURG. Aug 20 (Interfax) - St. Petersburg's Pulkovo Airport handled 3.607 million passengers in January-July 2009, or 11.3% fewer than in the same period of 2008, the airport said in a statement.

The number of passengers flying to international destinations from Pulkovo declined 12.2% to 1.602 million in the seven months, to CIS countries - 3.4% to 290,371 passengers and to domestic destinations - 11.6% to 1.715 million.

Pulkovo Airport boosted passenger thoroughfare 15.2% to 7.071 million in 2008.

The airport is wholly owned by the City of St. Petersburg.
