Real incomes in Russia fall 5.4% in July
MOSCOW. Aug 20 (Interfax) - Real disposable incomes in Russia fell 5.4% in July 2009 compared with July 2008, the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) said.
This was the biggest year-on-year drop since 7.8% in January 2009.
Incomes fell 0.9% year-on-year in January-July 2009 after rising 6.9% year-on-year in the same period of last year, including by 5.9% in July 2008.
In nominal terms, incomes averaged at 18,188 rubles in July.
The nominal wage due to employees in July 2009 was 18,862 rubles, or 5.5% higher than in July 2008.
The real wage, adjusted for inflation, fell 5.8% year-on-year in July 2009.
