Russia to ban imports of pedigree hogs from two German plants on Aug 30

MOSCOW. Aug 20 (Interfax) - Russian food safety watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor on August 30 will ban imports of pedigree hogs from two German plants - JSR Hybrid Produktion GmbH (06369 Worbzig) and JSR Hybrid Produktion GmbH (06420 Konnern).

The ban is the result of these plants violating Russian veterinary and sanitary requirements, Rosselkhoznadzor said in a statement.

Hogs shipped from the plants before August 30 will be admitted to Russia under the usual procedure.

Germany is one of the biggest suppliers of pedigree hogs to Russia.
