Yamal-Nenets oil fields should all have zero extraction tax rate

IGARKA, Russia. Aug 21 (Interfax) - Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has said it could be possible to introduce a Natural Resources Extraction Tax (NRET) rate of zero on the production of subsurface resources at fields in the Yamal-Nenets autonomous district.

"A preferential zero NRET rate already exists for a wide range of oil fields. As we agreed, this norm should be spread to the entire territory of the Yamal-Nenets autonomous district. Perhaps, such preferences should be given to gas as well," Putin said during a meeting in Igarka on the development of oil and gas provinces in the district and the northern Krasnoyarsk territory.
