Gazprom to invest 200 bln rubles in Yamal

IGARKA. Aug 24 (Interfax) - Gazprom plans to invest 200 billion rubles in the development of the Yamal Peninsula, Yury Neyolov, governor of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District, told reporters on Friday evening.

"[Gazprom CEO Alexei] Miller told me today that they were investing 200 billion rubles in the Yamal Peninsula, including 150 billion rubles in fields there," Neyolov said.

Neyolov said the money would probably be invested in 2010.

He said the Bovanenkovskoye field would produce its first gas in 2012. "Overall [gas production] growth will be 250 billion cubic meters thanks to the Yamal Peninsula," he said.

The project's first stage should yield 100 bcm per year, he said.
