Kazakhstan ups oil production 7%, gas 2.5% in 8 mths
ASTANA. Sept 4 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan raised production of oil and gas condensate 7% year-on-year in January-August to 50.006 million tonnes, a government official told Interfax.
Condensate production alone fell, by 11.6% to 3.713 million tonnes.
KazMunayGas, the national oil and gas corporation, reduced oil and condensate production 4.6% year-on-year in the eight months to 6.032 million tonnes.
Companies partly owned by KazMunayGas produced 22.449 million tonnes, up 18%: joint ventures TengizChevrOil produced 14.134 million tonnes and KazGerMunay produced 2.114 million tonnes, up 30.2% and 1.4%, respectively; OJSC Petro Kazakhstan Kumkol Resources produced 2.016 million tonnes, down 6.3%; and JSC Turgai Petroleum produced 2.14 million tonnes, down 2.5%.
Other oil producers lifted 21.525 million tonnes of oil and condensate in the eight months, up 0.7% year-on-year: OJSC MangistauMunayGas - 3.816 million tonnes, up 2%; OJSC CNPC-AktobeMunayGas - 4.09 million tonnes, up 6.2%; and Karachaganak Petroleum Operating (KPO) - 7.98 million tonnes, down 3.3%.
Kazakhstan produced 6.404 million tonnes of oil and condensate, including 427,896 tonnes of condensate, in August.
Gas production in Kazakhstan grew 2.5% year-on-year in the eight months to 23.221 billion cubic meters, including 12.164 bcm of natural gas, down 6.8%.
KazMunayGas produced 851.57 million cubic meters (mcm) in the eight months, down 6.5% from the same period of last year. Companies partly owned by KazMunayGas produced 8.076 bcm, up 22%, including TengizChevrOil - 7.008 bcm, up 23.2%. Other companies produced 14.293 bcm, down 6.6%, including KPO - 10.422 bcm, down 0.7%.
Kazakhstan produced 2.502 bcm of gas in August.
