Customs Union could resume WTO accession talks in Oct

MOSCOW. Sept 4 (Interfax) - The Belarusian-Kazakh-Russian negotiating team for accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) held consultations in Moscow September 2-3, the Russian Economic Development Ministry said in a statement.

They discussed and agreed on specific ways to enable talks on WTO accession to resume in the near future, as well as harmonizing the legislation of the three countries with WTO standards, Maxim Medvedkov, the chief negotiator, was quoted as saying.

The proposals will be put before the next meeting of the Customs Union Commission in Almaty on September 24-25.

"The accession talks could resume in October," Medvedkov said.
