India to bid in Tomsk region hydrocarbon tenders

TOMSK. Sept 7 (Interfax) - India plans to bid in tenders for licenses to hydrocarbon deposits in Tomsk region, Indian Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Murli Deora told journalists on Monday.

Indian-owned Imperial Energy will be the base of operations in Tomsk region, he said.

The company won't have time to prepare a bid for the upcoming tender to three license territories earlier held by Russneft , but it will bid in subsequent tenders.

ONGC Videsh Ltd. completed the acquisition of UK-based Imperial Energy in March 2009. The company has 13 licenses to hydrocarbon sections in Tomsk region. It also holds licenses to hydrocarbons in the northern portion of the Caspian Sea.

ONGC Videsh is the international division of state oil and gas producer Oil & Natural Gas Corp.
