Putin says Russian GDP could grow by more than 1.6% in 2010
MOSCOW. Sept 15 (Interfax) - The Russian economy could expand by more than 1.6% in 2010, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said.
"I expect there to be growth in GDP, albeit a small increase. The Economic Development Ministry estimates growth of 1.6%. Of course, this is an extremely cautious, conservative forecast. It's possible we could achieve even higher results," Putin said at a meeting of the government's budget commission on Tuesday.
