Seventh Continent boosts retail sales revenue by 4% in Aug

MOSCOW. Sept 17 (Interfax) - OJSC Seventh Continent's net retail revenue for August increased by 4% year-on-year to 3.67 billion rubles, the company said in a statement.

In dollar terms, the company's revenue fell by 21% to $116 million from $147 million for August 2008.

According to the company's managerial accounting, revenue for the eight months came to 31.3 billion rubles, or $958 million.

The grocery store chain's total retail floorspace at the end of August increased by 5% in comparison with July of last year to 177,200 square meters.

OJSC Seventh Continent has a chain of 140 under the same brand names. The company has stores in the Moscow region (124 stores), Kaliningrad region, Ryazan, Chelyabinsk, Perm and Yaroslav, as well as Belarus.
