Russian political and economic calendar: September 21

*** Russian President Dmitry Medvedev will leave for a week-long trip abroad. Medvedev will pay a state visit to Switzerland on September 21-22, take part in meetings of the UN General Assembly and the UN Security Council on September 23-24 and also take part in the G20 summit in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

*** European Commissioner for the Tax and Customs Union Laszlo Kovacs will pay an official visit to Moscow on September 21-22.

*** The Central Bank of Russia will hold an auction to offer banks 20 billion rubles in five-week unsecured loans.

*** A joint State Duma and Federation Council commission will begin investigating the August 17 accident at the Sayano-Shushenskaya Hydroelectric Power Plant.

*** Changes to the customs tariff for oil produced at 13 East Siberian fields will take effect.

*** The Russian government will permanently introduce zero duties on imports of some types of components for civilian aircraft.
