Russian stocks open higher; MICEX index gains 0.8%

MOSCOW. Sept 25 (Interfax) - Russian stocks opened higher on Friday amid upward corrections in oil prices and U.S. stock futures.

The MICEX index rose 0.76% to 1,186.17 points as of 10:31 a.m.

Advancers included Gazprom - up 1.1%, VTB - up 2%, Lukoil - up 1.1%, MMC Norilsk Nickel - up 1%, Rostelecom - up 0.5%, Rosneft - up 0.9%, Surgutneftegas - up 1%, Tatneft - up 0.7%, Sberbank Russia - up 0.6% and Polyus Gold - up 0.6%.
