Gazprom Neft files application to acquire 100% of voting shares in Sibir Energy with FAS

MOSCOW. Sept 25 (Interfax) - Gazprom Neft's subsidiary, OOO Gazpromneft ZS, has filed an application with the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) to acquire 100% of the voting shares in Sibir Energy, the FAS said in a statement.

The FAS needs an additional review of the company's application since the results of the transaction could cause a limit on competition. Interested parties have the right to provide the FAS information concerning the impact of the transaction.

Gazprom Neft confirmed that it had filed an application with the FAS for the acquisition of up to 100% in Sibir Energy. The agency has one month to decide on the acquisition but can extend the review up to two months if necessary.

It was earlier reported that Gazprom Neft had purchased a control packet (55% of shares) in April-June in Sibir Energy. According to unofficial reports, the company directly and indirectly controls around 81%, including the pledge for shares held by businessman Ruslan Baisarov. The Moscow government controls over 19% in Sibir Energy. This week, the mayor's office of Moscow and Gazprom Neft signed a memorandum to manage Sibir Energy. Moscow's Deputy Mayor, Vladimir Silkin, said that the capital's authorities could make a bid for a blocking packet in Sibir Energy.
