Russia may have 2009 grain crop of 97 Mln tonnes
ORYOL, Russia. Oct 2 (Interfax) - Russia may have a grain crop of 95 million to 97 million tonnes this year, First Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov forecast on Friday.
"Harvesting is underway in Siberia, there are good prospects there, and so there will probably be 12 to 15 million tonnes of extra grain this year," Zubkov told a conference in Maloarkhangelsk, Oryol region.
This means more grain elevators need to be built, he said.
