Russian stock market down on weal U.S. stats

MOSCOW. Oct 2 (Interfax) - The Russian stock market fell on Friday after the United States released weak job figures.

The MICEX stock index fell 2.94% to 1175.83 and the RTS was down 3.32% to 1224.8. Benchmark stocks shed 0.1%-7.4% of their value.

The MICEX fell 1% and the RTS - 0.04% in the week.

The MICEX Friday saw drops for Gazprom (-2.8%), Lukoil (-2.9%), MMC Norilsk Nickel (-5.3%), Rostelecom (-4.6%), Rosneft (-3%), Gazprom Neft (-1.4%), Surgutneftegas (-4.1%), Tatneft (-3.7%), Sberbank (-2.3%) and Polyus Gold (-0.1%).

However VTB rose 0.9% to 5.67 kopecks.

RTS Classic Market trading volume was $15.73 million, RTS Standard turnover hit $364.749 million and MICEX volume was 67.54 billion rubles, led by Sberbank common shares with 22.864 billion rubles.
