Carrefour to open second store at Moscow

MOSCOW. Oct 5 (Interfax) - Carrefour, one of the leading retail operators in the world, will become one of the well-established companies at the Moscow-based shopping and entertainment center River Mall, Colliers International, the project's consultant and broker, said in a press release.

Carrefour and the project's developer, CJSC Kuznetsky Most Development, have signed a preliminary leasing agreement, the document said.

River Mall shopping and entertainment center is being built in Moscow on the territory of the former Likhachev factory (Ul. Avtozavodskaya, 16). The new center will be located on the third transport ring with a view on the Moscow River near to the Avtozavodskaya and Tulskaya metro stations. River Mall will be one of the leading retail complexes in Moscow with total floorspace coming to over 259,000 square meters.

The River Mall shopping center is slated for opening at the end of 2010. The Carrefour hypermarket there will open its doors for customers in 2011. Carrefour is leasing around 13,000 square meters of floorspace and will become one of the leading outlets at the shopping center, the press release said.
