Federal Grid Co tariffs may rise 52.4% in 2010

MOSCOW. Oct 9 (Interfax) - The proposed increase in tariffs charged by Federal Grid Company (FGC) may amount to 52.4% in 2010, according to materials presented by the head of the Federal Tariffs Service, Sergei Novikov, to the State Duma on Friday.

The materials also say that electricity prices on the wholesale market will rise 5.4% next year in the first price zone (European Russia and the Urals) and 3.7% in the second (Siberia). In the Far East outside the price zones, the increase might amount to 7.7%.
