Power substation on fire in southern Moscow, supplies undisrupted

MOSCOW. Oct 9 (Interfax) - The Saburovo transformer substation caught fire in southern Moscow late Friday afternoon.

Yevgeny Bobylev, spokesman for the city's Local emergency situations department, told Interfax that the fire was reported ay 5:11 p.m. and that 11 fire engines were tackling the blaze.

He said there were no reports of any casualties yet.

The address is Borisovskiye Prudy Ulitsa 1. The fire has spread over an area of 150 square meters.

A spokesman for the Southern Administrative District's Prefecture told Interfax that the fire had not caused any power outages at local residential and non-residential buildings.

Moscow Unified Grid Company (MOESK) confirmed this.

"MOESK's engineers have ensured undisrupted electricity supply to local users," it said.
