Russia slaps 20% duty on magnesium scrap export
MOSCOW. Oct 13 (Interfax) - The Russian government has imposed a 20%-duty on magnesium scrap and waste exports, the government said on its website.
The duty can be 20% of customs value but at least 138 euro per tonne. The duty comes into effect on November 8.
VSMPO-Avisma and Solikamsk Magnesium Plant are Russia's main magnesium producers.
Russia has already imposed export duties of 50% (at least 380 euro per tonne) on aluminum scrap, 30% (180 euro) on zinc scrap and 6.5% on tin, tungsten, molybdenum and tantalum scrap.
