Russian industrial decline slows to 9.5% in Sept, better than forecast

MOSCOW. Oct 15 (Interfax) - Russian industrial output decline slowed to 9.5% year-on-year in September, the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) said.

Analysts said in a consensus forecast for Interfax at the end of September that they expected industry to plummet 12% last month.

The actual decline was the lowest so far this year.

Rosstat does not quote seasonally adjusted industrial output figures. Industry grew 5.1% in September compared with August.

Output fell 13.5% year-on-year in January-September.
