Rosneft examining development of 30 offshore fields - Bogdanchikov

MURMANSK. Oct 15 (Interfax) - Rosneft is examining the possibility of developing 30 sections on the Russian shelf, company head Sergei Bogdanchikov said at an international forum in Murmansk on Thursday.

"We plan to participate in 30 licenses in six sea areas," he said.

Combined reserves at those fields might reach 18 billion tonnes of oil equivalent, he said.

Rosneft has already invested $13 billion in those shelf projects where it is taking part jointly with other companies. It now has experience drilling 91 offshore wells.

Rosneft intends to meet all its obligations under licensing agreements on existing projects. It also plans to continue investing in the shelf. "The Natural Resources Ministry on Sakhalin has said that investment in the shelf is expected to total 9 trillion-9.5 trillion rubles. That's a very serious amount, but we for our part, the part that concerns Rosneft, plan to meet our commitments," he said.
