ASHGABAT. Oct 15 (Interfax) - One of the reasons why Turkmenistan retains its high investment appeal is its political stability and substantial resources, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow said in his welcome address to the international investment forum which opened in Ashgabat on Thursday.

"Seeing economic ties as the most important component of international cooperation, we establish and strengthen mutually beneficial partnership with large companies and hold an active dialog with investors," he said.

The country's investment appeal is due to its long-term political stability, high national economic growth rates, huge resources and stable national currency, the president said.

Turkmenistan's investment policy is aimed at overall modernization and diversification of the national economy and is based on the state guarantees for all types of investment into the country's growth, the Turkmen leader said in his address.

"We create a favorable investment climate for Turkmen and foreign businesses and reinforce it with the national legislation in line with the generally accepted standards of international law," the Turkmen president said.
