Central Bank plans to reduce scale of currency interventions in mid-term - Putin

NOVO-OGAREVO. Oct 16 (Interfax) - The Central Bank of Russia plans to gradually reduce the scale of currency interventions in the medium term, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said on Friday in opening remarks at a session on economic issues.

"The Central Bank of Russia plans to gradually reduce the scale of interventions on the currency market in the medium term. I just spoke with the Central Bank chairman on that issue," Putin said.

"In the long term, this will provide new benefits for our economy and, in addition, will provide additional conditions for reducing inflation," he said.
