Russian oil export to non-CIS up 1.8%, gas down 37% in 8 mths

MOSCOW. Oct 19 (Interfax) - Russia exported 139.241 million tonnes of oil to non-CIS countries in the first eight months of 2009, up 1.8% year-on-year, the Federal Customs Service (FCS) said.

Petroleum product exports in tonnage rose by 6.3%, including growth of 23.8% for gasoline, 5.7% for diesel and 4.7% for fuel oil.

Fuel and energy exports in value fell 49% year-on-year.

Fuel and energy accounted for 69.4% of Russian exports to the non-CIS in the eight months, compared with 73.6% in the same period last year.

Oil shipments to the CIS fell 15.9% year-on-year to 10.009 million tonnes. Oil product exports fell 33.6%, including diesel - 43.4%, fuel oil - 62.4% and gasoline - 7%.

Fuel and energy exports to the CIS fell 53.2% in value.

Fuel and energy accounted for 38.1% of exports to the CIS, down from 43.6% in January-August 2008.

Russia exported 83.8 billion cubic meters of natural gas in January-August 2009. Gas exports to the non-CIS fell 36.9% to 70 bcm, while exports to the CIS grew 24.1% to 13.8 bcm.
