Oil production in Azerbaijan up 8.5% in Jan-Sept, gas output slips 0.6%
BAKU. Oct 20 (Interfax) - Oil production in Azerbaijan in January-September 2009 increased by 8.5% year-on-year to 37.82 million tonnes, the State Statistics Committee told Interfax.
Total oil production from the Azeri-Chirag-Gyuneshli block of fields in the nine months went up by 10.7% to 31.5 million tonnes and accounted for 83.3% of total oil output in Azerbaijan.
Gas output in Azerbaijan in January-September 2009 came to 17.339 billion cubic meters, a slight year-on-year decrease of 0.6%.
The Azeri-Chirag-Gyuneshli block of fields produced 7.4 bcm of associated gas during the period. Natural gas output from Shah-Deniz increased by 16.4%.
