Pensions in Russia to grow by an average of 46% in 2010 - Putin

NOVO-OGARYOVO, Moscow region. Oct 30 (Interfax) - Funds equivalent to approximately 10% of GDP will be spent on pensions in Russia next year, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said.

"It is an absolutely unprecedented figure, which will allow us to raise pensions for old-age people by an average of 46% in 2010," Putin said at a meeting with senior members of the pro-Kremlin United Russia party.
