Kongzhong to focus on mobile gaming in 2010

Beijing. Nov. 2 INTERFAX-CHINA - Kongzhong Corp., a leading mobile Internet company, will focus on mobile game development and operation in 2010, a Kongzhong employee told Interfax on Nov. 2.

"The financial crisis has had little affect on the Chinese entertainment industry. As market conditions continue to improve and telecom operators continue to lower 3G service fees, it will only positively affect the mobile gaming market," Kongzhong Corp.'s vice president, Wang Guijun, said.

Established in May 2002, Kongzhong Corp. is a wireless value-added services provider and an online game developer and operator. The company also develops and operates offline games and WAP (wireless application protocol) games.

Kongzhong Corp. received a $6.8 million venture capital investment in February from Nokia Growth Partners, Nokia's venture capital fund.
