Russia to offer environmental recovery program for Baltic region
MOSCOW. Nov 2 (Interfax) - Russia is developing a special program to improve the environmental situation in the Baltic region between 2010-2015, said Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.
"As the current president of the Council of the Baltic Sea States, Russia has prepared a separate presidency program which I signed yesterday," Putin told a press conference after talks with Danish Prime Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen.
Currently, Russia "is working on a special program to improve the ecology of the Baltic Sea between 2010-2015," he said.
"We are planning to implement a whole host of environmental measures in the Baltic region," Putin said.
