Potash miner Silvinit halves 9M earnings

MOSCOW. Nov 3 (Interfax) - Silvinit more than halved net profit to Russian Accounting Standards (RAS) in January-September.

The Russian potash miner said in a statement that it had net profit of 5.896 billion rubles in Q3 2009. Earnings for the nine months were 12.007 billion rubles, down from 24.58 billion rubles in the same period of last year.

Profit grew 60% in Q3 compared with Q2 2009 due to higher potash sales.
