Severstal gets approval for $600-mln Saratov steel plant plans

MOSCOW. Nov 5 (Interfax) - A Russian government agency has approved the blueprints for a steel mill costing more than $600 million that Severstal plans to build in the Saratov region.

Government appraisals agency Glavkomezrtiza issued the approval, Severstal said bin a statement.

The plant, in Balakovo, will produce long products. Earlier reports said it would cost just over $500 million to build.
