Sberbank calls breakdown in Opel acquisition unprecedented

MOSCOW. Nov 11 (Interfax) - Sberbank has called the breakdown in the acquisition of Opel "unprecedented."

"Such a sharp change in position [of the seller, U.S. corporation GM] is unprecedented," Sberbank's senior vice president and managing board member Denis Bugrov told journalists.

Bugrov said that Sberbank regrets that the situation has taken such a turn despite the reached agreements.

He added that the bank was currently in active negotiations with other participants in the transaction. "We are open to any constructive remedy to the situation," Bugrov said.
