Domestically produced medicines should account for at least 25% of Russian pharmaceutical market in five years
MOSCOW. Nov 12 (Interfax) - Domestically produced medicines should account for at least 25% of the Russian pharmaceutical market in five years and exceed 50% of the market by 2020, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said in his address to the Federal Assembly.
"One of the means of promoting the production of medicines and equipment will be the mechanism of state purchases," Medvedev said.
Medvedev said he is confident that "Russian companies are capable of producing medications and technologies that will be in demand on the world market." To make that happen, "we need to more actively develop partnerships with leading foreign developers and producers, including the organization of advanced research in the sphere of medicine," Medvedev said.
