Sberbank increases total bankcards by 19.2% in 9 mths
MOSCOW. Nov 16 (Interfax) - Sberbank increased total issued bankcards in January-September by 19.2% year-on-year to 36.3 million units, the bank said in a press release.
At the end of the first half of 2009, total cards issues by Sberbank came to 33.9 million units.
Total MasterCard and Maestro cards came to 19.2 million units, Visa and Visa Electron - 14 million units and Sbercard - 3.1 million units.
Sberbank continued to distribute credit cards through direct offers to its clients. Total credit cards and allowable overdrafts came to 274,400 units and 304,700 units, respectively. Total debt on these cards came to 7.8 billion rubles.
Sberbank provides card services in over 6,800 populated areas throughout Russia.
