State won

MOSCOW. Nov 18 (Interfax) - The state does not plan to participate in a supplementary issue of shares in RusHydro for restoration of the Sayano-Shushenskaya Hydroelectric Station, Energy Minister Sergei Shmatko told journalists.

"The state will not participate in the supplementary issue," he said.

Shmatko said that the restoration of Sayano-Shushenskaya in 2009-2010 would be financed from a supplementary issue, which will be placed on the market while keeping control of the company in the hands of the state. He added that the total issue could reach up to 19 billion rubles.

Shmatko said that financing sources could change in the future. "Work is now underway with the Finance Ministry on possibly using state support," he said.
