Roche awards scholarships to Shanghai medical students

Shanghai. November 24. INTERFAX-CHINA - Roche Diagnostics (Shanghai) Ltd. awarded scholarships worth a total of RMB 100,000 ($14,641.29) to medical students in Shanghai Municipality on Nov. 23, local media reported on Nov. 24.

According to Jiefang Daily, 22 medical students enrolled at Shanghai Jiao Tong University received scholarships from the pharmaceutical company this year.

Earlier in October this year, Roche Diagnostics gave out RMB 45,000 ($6,588.58) in scholarships to 10 medical students from Tianjin Municipality's Nankai University.

Roche Diagnostics first gave out medical scholarships to Chinese students in 2003. Approximately 100 medical students from Fudan University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Nankai University, Capital Medical University, Sichuan University and Wenzhou Medical College have benefited from the program to date.
