Chubais wants state to support acquisition of foreign innovative companies

MOSCOW. Nov 25 (Interfax) - Anatoly Chubais, head of Rosnano state corporation, believes that through development institutions established in Russia the state should help the business community acquire foreign innovative companies.

"Unfortunately we have already seen that it is unrealistic to expect that we could acquire the very latest R&D results somewhere in the world or in the West. We have seen that in our very first projects in electronics," he said at a session of the commission for modernization.

"I find reasonable the proposal which some business representatives have been coming up with. In these cases business should be assisted in the acquisition of companies," Chubais said.

"For our business to be in a position to acquire them - and the first examples of this already exist - [state-owned] development institutions should consolidated properly and offer assistance," he said.
