Gas sector will need $565 bln-$595 bln in investment by 2030
MOSCOW. Nov 26 (Interfax) - The Russian gas sector will need capital investment totaling $565 billion-$590 billion in 2009-2030 in 2007 prices, according to the Energy Strategy to 2030.
Capital investment will total $150 billion-$155 billion in the first phase (roughly until 2013-2015), $131 billion-$136 billion in the second (to 2020-2022) and $284 billion-$299 billion in the third phase (to 2030).
Of the total, $186-$194 billion will go to production ($45 billion-$46 billion in the first phase, $43 billion-$45 billion in the second and $98 billion-$103 billion in the third), $277 billion-$289 billion to transportation ($73 billion-$75 billion in the first phase, $63 billion-$65 billion in the second and $141 billion-$149 billion in the third) and $103 billion-$107 billion for underground storage facilities ($32 billion-$34 billion in the first phase, $25 billion-$26 billion in the second and $45 billion-$47 billion in the third).
The Energy Strategy forecasts gas production to equal 885 billion-940 billion cubic meters in 2030.
