Russia to discuss Sibur participation in Iran petrochemical projects
MOSCOW. Nov 27 (Interfax) - Russia plans to discuss with Iran Sibur's participation in Iranian petrochemical projects, Energy Minister Sergei Shmatko told journalists
"We will discuss not only upstream projects, but downstream projects as well. There is a project to develop Iran's petrochemical sector and Sibur is very interested in that," he said.
It was reported earlier that Sibur Holding and National Iranian Petrochemical Company (NIPC) are discussing potential cooperation. Top Sibur officials on a visit to Iran earlier this year said the company was interested in cooperation with Iranian companies.
Shmatko plans to visit Iran on November 30, where he will take part in a session of the bilateral government commission on economic cooperation. He will also discuss a broad range of bilateral cooperation issues during the visit.
