Dollar closes Friday with only some of its morning MICEX gains
MOSCOW. Nov 27 (Interfax) - The U.S. dollar lost a substantial portion of its morning gains on the MICEX on Friday by the end of trading. The ruble, which lost against the bi-currency basket in morning transactions, was able to recover some of its losses.
The dollar went up by 20 kopecks for the day to close 29.3995 rubles/$1 while the euro dropped by 22.25 kopecks to finish at 43.785 rubles/EUR1.
It morning trades the dollar reached a session maximum of 29.93 rubles/$1 while the euro ascended to 44.615 rubles/EUR1, its highest standing since September.
The bi-currency basket increased by 64 kopecks to 36.5 rubles.
The dollar's average weighted exchange rate on the MICEX went up by 92.41 kopecks to 29.7098 rubles/$1 in Today deals on Friday and 67.64 kopecks to 29.6512 rubles in Tomorrow deals. Total dollar trading on the MICEX amounted to $7.393 billion with $1.434 billion in Today deals and $5.959 billion in Tomorrow deals.
The euro went up by 69.91 kopecks to 44.2782/EUR1 rubles in Today deals and 45.3 kopecks to 44.1321 rubles/EUR1 in Tomorrow deals. Total euro trading came to 354.7 million euro, of which 79 million euro were Today deals and 275.7 million euro were Tomorrow deals.
The overnight MIACR came to 5.92%, down 21 points for the day.
